I just read this page of a distribution named GoboLinux. This is the first GNU/Linux distribution I am aware of with built-in rootkit!!! GoboHide FTW!!! :P

  1. Well it’s not as bad as it may sound, as long as you know that it exists, and you have a command to easily show them. Compare that with the Alternate Data Streams in Windows where you have no way to tell if they exist on a file from Explorer, and a lot of sysadmins are unaware of this “feature” to this date.

  3. Well some would argue that they have too much work to do to have the time to know such a feature. Depends on the point of view I guess ;-)
